Entries for St Nicholas AC's popular Thomas Kent 10k went on sale at 6pm last night, with 350 places up for grabs. Such was the demand that the entry portal was overloaded several times, but was quickly restored
By 9pm, after being open for just three hours, less than 100 places remained and, overnight, the last spots were filled

While there have been road races already, since things started opening up again in August, this is the first event to sell out emphatically in a very short timescale, and with a higher initial offering of 350 places. This is surely a sign of confidence among runners.
It is also testimony to the organisers, St. Nicholas AC, who have, since the event started in 2017, set a high bar for race organisation and attention to detail. In addition, selling out so quickly is also a reflection on the background work put in by St Nicholas AC in self-promoting the event - When people see that when a club puts on a good show AND are prepared to put the work into promoting the event themselves, the results surpass the majority of events, who 'outsource' promotion.
