Athletics Ireland Issue Club's Safety Template

December 2017

In December 2017, the Athletics Ireland Finance and Risk committee approved a Safety Statement for all Athletics Ireland clubs to adopt, as appropriate.

This is a comprehensive document, setting out the duties and responsibilities of committees, describing what a safe club is, and providing advice on hazard identification and control measures.

A number of safety policies are included in the appendices for clubs to adopt as appropriate. Several sections will apply only to clubs with their own premises and/or grounds, while other sections relate to premises where alcohol is sold. Any section that does not apply to your club can be deleted from your club's adopted version

Athletics Ireland suggests that this plan be reviewed by clubs, and its adoption minuted, by each management committee. Please take local safety advice with regard to your own facility, as this document is designed as a template resource.
