Cork City Sports Athlete of the Month - April 2018 - Award Citation

The Cork City Sports Athlete for the Month of April is Conor Morey (Leevale AC)

 

April 2018 Citation:

Conor is an up and coming sprinter, coached by Derek Coffey. Competing at the Munster Junior T&F Championships in Waterford on April 22nd, Conor had a clean sweep winning the 100m in 11.18 seconds, and 200m in 22.48 seconds.  On April 7th, Conor anchored the Leevale boys under 18 and under 19 4x200m, relay teams to victory in the Athletics Ireland Indoor Relay Championships.


Conor has also been selected as one of the 23 athletes to represent Ireland at the European U18 Championships in Gyor, Hungary, from July 5-8th

 

This afternoon, Monday June 18th, 2018, Conor Morey, Leevale AC, was the recipient of the Cork City Sports Athlete of the Month for April 2018, at a function in the River Lee Hotel.

About Us

Cork Athletics County Board is a constituent member of Athletics Ireland. Cork Athletics is the governing body, administering athletics, track and field (T&F), cross-country (XC) and running in county Cork. The Board comprises elected representatives of constituent athletic clubs and running clubs. Cork County Board AAI organises Championship races and competition, including road, track & field (T&F) and Cross-country (XC), at junior, juvenile, senior and masters levels, and selects representation for the county. In addition, training and education is provided for coaches and officials. The Board also regulates the Athletics Ireland race/event permit (licence) process for county Cork.
