February end-of-month registrations for Cork Athletics stand at a record 6,543, an increase of 1,230 (23.15%) on the January 2023 figure of 5,313

There was a big move to register members, after Athletics Ireland stated that there would be no 'grace period' at the beginning of the 2024 year. This move appears to have led to many registrations coming in earlier than in previous years. This months figures are up 4.6% on the February 2023 numbers, with Juvenile membership remaining statis, while adult membership is up almost 10%

Clubs are reminded that new members may 'try out' the club for a few weeks, after which they MUST be registered, or they will NOT be covered by Athletics Ireland insurance

Any athlete, coach, official, or any member acting in any capacity, who remains unregistered is NOT covered by Athletics Irelands insurance, for ANY purpose whatsoever, including training and/or competition

Changes over 12 Months - February 2023 to February 2024

Registrations have increased by approx. 4.5% over the past 12 months, however the majority of this is from Adult registrations, with adult membership rising by 9.3%, while juvenile membership has remained pretty static

New Memberships are down 8.6% over the period, with adult memberships up by 2.8%, but new Juvenile membership has fallen significantly, by almost 19%

Bandon AC remain at the top of the Leaderboard, by a distance, on 530, followed by Leevale AC (424), with Togher AC moving up to third on 341, while Grange-Fermoy AC (332) and North Cork AC (318) exceed 300 members. Four clubs top 200 members; Midleton AC (299), Youghal AC (265), Carraig na bhFear AC (252) and St. Catherine's AC (219), all exceed 200, while another 15 top the 100 members mark, 27 clubs in all
