The July Cork City Sports Athlete of the Month award goes to Sophie O'Sullivan, Ballymore-Cobh AC
Sophie O'Sullivan (Ballymore/Cobh AC) is the July recipient of Cork City Sports Athlete of the Month award. On July 16th, Sophie became the first Irish athlete ever to win a gold medal at the European Under 23 Track and Field championships, which were held this year in Espoo, Finland
Sophie showed all of her competitive prowess in the finish straight, to take the 1500m title in a time of 4:07.18
