Note from County Board Registrar John Copithorne regarding Insurance and Registrations

All clubs shold immediately ensure that all their active

are all Registered for 2021

It is critical, particularly for insurance purposes, that everyone is registered.

Now that athletics has started to reopen, registrations can be easy to overlook, and a few clubs appear to have resumed activity without registering some of their members, and, in a few cases, significant numbers. This should be addressed as a matter of urgency

Clubs are reminded that UNREGISTERED athletes are NOT covered by Athletics Irelands insurance, for ANY purpose, training or competition, leaving those athletes, officials, coaches and clubs in a precarious legal position.

Any club having difficulties registering their athletes should contact Cork Athletics Registrar, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. 0861713500

Webmaster's Note: I have been 'Banging on' for ages about the Bandon Rugby Club case. The Irish Times reported on the case in April 1997.  Twenty four years later, the judgement is still as relevant, and stands out as a warning to the consequences of not registering members of an organisation.  A further related Irish Times article advises clubs to ensure that members are registered.
