Call for Volunteers and Nominations for Competition Sub-Committee

Competition Sub-Committee 2020

cork athletics competition subcommittee nominations 2020

As you all will be aware, Cork County Board, and the athletics community in general, recently lost our esteemed, valued, and long standing, Competition Secretary, Mary Meagher, R.I.P., just a few weeks ago.  For decades, Mary did Trojan work for Cork Athletics, ensuring that all our competitions ran off smoothly, and successfully.

The onus now falls on the athletic community to pick up Mary's mantle, and continue to foster athletics in our County.

Cork Athletics County Board has decided to form a Competitions sub-committee, to run our road, track and field, and cross country competitions.

The Board invites clubs and individuals to nominate people to sit on this committee.

The aim is to have sufficient numbers, and skill sets, on this committee, to run our competitions, while also ensuring that no individual will have to carry too heavy a workload.

Our Road championships are just over a month away, and our Track and Field just two and a half months away. It is essential that the Board has names of volunteers, as soon as possible, so that the Competition Sub-Committee can be ratified at the next County Board meeting, on Wednesday March 4th.

Those interested should submit their names and contact details, or those of the individuals that they are nominating, to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., as soon as possible
