Tomorrow night's SPAR Cork Airport Runway 5K, organised by Cork Athletics, on behalf of Athletics Ireland, is almost full with just over 100 places left (as of last night). Almost 2,400 of the 2,500 available places have been filled, hugely surpassing last year's 2,000 entries.

Don't delay - Enter online NOW

This is a unique event where runners get the opportunity to run 5K on the airport runway as Cork Airport shuts down operations for one night only.

Over 2,500 runners will take part in this one-of-a-kind event, joining Sonia O’Sullivan, Olympian Mick Clohisey and personal trainer Karl Henry, who will also be there on the night to take part in the event.

An out and back course, the race will begin at 11:59pm on Friday night and run into the early hours of Saturday morning. A fast flat course, the race is chip-timed by MyRunResults.

In addition to the unique experience of running on Cork Airport runway, participants will also receive a T-Shirt, Medal and Goody Bag. Funds raised from the race will go to the Shine Centre for Autism, Cork Airport’s 2018 Charity of the Year.

Entry is €25 plus €1.75 transaction fee. Entries are still open but are filling up fast so make sure to enter as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!
