The Bweeng 5k race starts approx. 500m from Race HQ. The route then heads back in the direction of HQ where the route again turns left, onto the Lombardstown Road. The first KM is extremely fast with a slight downhill fall. The course then is an out and back with the turning point at approximately 2.5k
The middle section is fast also with one or two small inclines but because it's an out and back you gain on one side what you lose on the other. The final KM is coming off a slight fall also and last 400mtr allows for fast finish. Overall this is a course where many competitors PB
The award winning Bweeng Trail Blazers 5k takes place on 12th May 2024. Race will start at 11am sharp
Like last year this year's race will see funds raised go to the completion of our 200mtr track which we hope to finish in 2024
The race is known as one of the best organised and PB races in Ireland. There is plenty of Individual and Category prizes
The race draws runners from All over Ireland who are looking for a fast well organised event. Over the years this event has won many awards both at County and National level. The race attracts both the fun runner right up to runners who have ran at Olympic level. It is an event for all
The race this year is also part of the New Rebel Diamond League where this race combined with Mount Hillary AC, Dromahane Road Runners and Buttevant RC with all clubs looking to enhance races for all
The course record currently stands at 14:22, following the win in 2022, by Jake O'Regan from St Johns AC. The Female course record is held by Lizzie Lee of Leevale, in a time of 16:00
