Cork Registration figures stand at a record 6,936, an increase of 5% on the 2014 figure of 6,602

2016 Athletics Ireland Registrations are now Due

Clubs are reminded that 2016 registrations should be completed as soon as possible. There was a "grace period" of a few weeks, to allow sufficient time for re-registrations, whereby insurance cover continues, pending registration.  This "grace period" does NOT extend beyond January and does NOT include competition.

Therefore any athlete that remains unregistered at this point in time is NOT covered by Athletics Irelands insurance, for ANY purpose, training or competition. 
Clubs are urged to register their athletes without further delay.

NB: The "grace period" covers official club, county, provincial and national training sessions.  It does NOT cover competition. All athletes competing in Championship or representative events MUST be registered.  Club Registrars are reminded that there is a new Registration System in operation.

Change December 2014 - December 2015

Ballymore-Cobh AC registrations grew by a massive 176% last year, from an already significant figure.  In percentage terms, Fanahan McSweeney experienced the greatest growth, 369%, but from quite a low base. Nevertheless a great achievement. New club Rosscarbery Steam Runners A.C. comes straight in with a creditable 70 members, but no change in percentage terms....they are a new club. Eight clubs, Ballintotis Fit4Life, Clonakilty Road Runners AC, Skibbereen AC, Belgooly AC, St. Nicholas AC, Mallow AC, Togher AC and Tracton AC all grew by over 40 members.
