Major Cross-Country Changes Decided at AAI AGM

Major changes to emerge include:

• The National Inter-club Cross-Country Championships move to November
• The National Junior and Senior Inter-Club Cross-Country Championships will replace the Intercounties as the selection race for the European Cross Country, with the senior men’s race shortened to 10,000m.
• A National 4,000m Short Course Cross-Country Championships will be reintroduced
• The National Inter-Counties Cross-Country Championships will now take place in the New Year
• The entire cross-country season will be completed by mid-February.
• The Juvenile U-19 age group is abolished
• There will be a National Cross-Country Club League, taking in the Novice, Intermediate, Senior and Masters races
