PHIL HEALY PIPPED ON THE LINE BY MARIA CHIGBOLU (ITALY)
Bandon AC's Phil Healy continued her fabulous week with another double PB, in Geneva ths afternoon. Probably the best, from the spectator point of view, was her performance in the 400m. Phil went out hard, and led into the final straigh, before being passed by Chigbolu. However Phil fought back to lead again, but Chigbolu nosed ahead again, with Healy finishing strongly. In the end Chigbolu took the honours by the narrowest of margins, just 0.01 sec - the dip probably being the difference. Her finish time was 53.19 sec.
Phil's time places her 6th in the Irish All-Time Outdoor Standings, although her indoor time of 53.15 sec, set earlier this year is actuall the third fastest 400 by an Irish woman. Her 40m time is a European Championship Qualifying Time
Kilkenny City Hrriers Cliodhna Manning won Race 5 of teh Women's 400m, in a 53.15 sec PB
Phil also ran in the 200m, with a 23.1 sec PB, ranking third in the All-Time Irish 200m standings, and also qualifying her for the European Championships. Phil has now wet Qualifying Times at 100m, 200m and 400m
