Recipients of Cork Athletics Aspiring Athlete Bursaries 2017

 

Each year, Cork Athletics presents training bursaries to Aspiring Young Athletes, selected on several criteria, including significant athletic achievement, progression and application to their chosen athletic discipline(s).

The Aspiring Young Athlete Bursaries will be presented in conjunction with Cork Athletics International Awards Night, which will be held in The Imperial Hotel, South Mall, Cork, at 8pm, on Friday March 2nd 2018.  The International Awards ceremony recognises Cork athletes who were selected and represented Ireland during 2017.  Other awards, including those for the 2017 Cork Athletics Graded Leagues, are also presented, along with special presentations.

 

NB: If the Athlete is unable to attend the awards ceremony, the bursary will only be presented to a family member.

 

The following Twenty Four Cork athletes have been selected as recipients of the 2018 Aspiring Young Athlete Bursaries.

About Us

Cork Athletics County Board is a constituent member of Athletics Ireland. Cork Athletics is the governing body, administering athletics, track and field (T&F), cross-country (XC) and running in county Cork. The Board comprises elected representatives of constituent athletic clubs and running clubs. Cork County Board AAI organises Championship races and competition, including road, track & field (T&F) and Cross-country (XC), at junior, juvenile, senior and masters levels, and selects representation for the county. In addition, training and education is provided for coaches and officials. The Board also regulates the Athletics Ireland race/event permit (licence) process for county Cork.
