Bandon AC's Joan Healy set a new 60m PB of 7.34 seconds, at yesterday's Nantes Métropole Indoor, reducing from her previous best of 7.37, set when guesting in Round 1 of the Athletics Ireland National Indoor Leagues, at the National Indoor Arena, in Abbotstown, Dublin, just last week, on January 13th.
Joan placed second, behind France's Carolle Zahi, who was a clear winner, in 7.15 sec. Ireland's European Youth 100m Champion, Gina Akpe-Moses, finished in 6th place, in 7.50, in this elite race.
Joan now moves up to 6th in the All-Time Irish women's 60m leaderboard, just 0.04 seconds away from the National 60m Record of 7.30, held by Anna Boyle, and which has stood since March 2007. 7.30 seconds is also the IAAF World Indoor Championship Qualification Standard.
