On Thursday next, January 21at, at 7:30pm, Connacht Athletics are hosting an online workshop on 'Using Social Media to Maximise Your Athletics Club News. The event has been organised by Connacht PRO, Pierce O'Callaghan, who, himself, has an impressive athletics organisational and publicity management CV.

Pierce has arranged a most impressive athletics media expert, Michelle Sammet, as the principal speaker at the webinar.

Prior to Covid, Cork Athletics had plans in train to present a seminar in Cork on social media, while CIT Athletics were also due to host a similar seminar ....But Covid put both on hold.  We WILL get round to running these when we can meet in person again. In the meantime... this webinar is NOT to be missed.

This webinar is in great demand, so Club Social Media Officers should not delay in signing up. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to arrange your place.

The use of social media by athletics clubs varies across the spectrum; some clubs have no social media presence at all, while a few are very effective. The vast majority lie somewhere in the middle.  Some 'outsource' their club's media work, leading others to benefit at their expense, gaining very little in the long run.

With the current impasse due to Covid, it is vital that clubs maintain engagement with their members, and also, with a view to the re-opening of athletics post-Covid - and it WILL happen - it is crucial that clubs look attractive to prospective new members.  If your club doesn't have an active, dynamic presence - an 'attractive, enticing shop window' - then other clubs will reap the reward.

So - Do your Club a favour ..... This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
