79th ISTAF, Berlin, 2pm, Sunday September 13th 2020
There is Cork and Irish interest in tomorrow's ISTAF, with Michelle Finn, Leevale AC, in the 3k Steeplechase, at 15:40pm (Irish time), Ciara Mageean in the 1500m, at 16:15pm and Thomas Barr in the 400mH, at 16:45pm. With Olympic Qualification open again since Sept 1st, and the quality fields, we are sure to see some exceptional events. The meet gets under way at 3pm Berlin time, an hour ahead of us here, so take an hour off the start times below:
Meet Schedule - 79th ISTAF
Michelle Finn will be chasing the 9:30 Olympic Steeplechase standard. She will need to improve on her 9:38.04 PB, set in Sydney last February - a time that still stands as 4th best in the world this year. Qualification would put her close to Roísín McGettigan's 2007 Irish Record of 9:28.29. The women's steeplechase is at 15:40 Irish time
ISTAF Women's 3000m Steeplechase Field
Women's 1500m
Ciara Mageean runsin teh 1500m at 16:15pm, in a fabulous lineup. With so many stars in the field, hopefully it's be a 'bust up' rather than a tactical race, ensuring fast times. Muir is probably the one to beat, and Mageean has already beathen her this season, but there are plenty of other big names in the race. This will be interesting to watch!
ISTAF Women's 1500m Field
Men's 400mH
At 16:45pm, Thomas Barr goes head-to-head with Karsten Warlholm, in a star-studded field. Warholm is intent on attacking the world record, so, again, this is sure to be an exciting race.
