Charleville Half-Marathon Weather Outlook

charleville weather september 15th 2019
Sunday's weather is looking pretty good. No rain (as long as that 'stuff' heading for Donegal and the northwest stays there!) and light winds. The downsides are temperatures of 15C or 16C and high humidity.  Sunblock might be an idea, though UV index of 3 or 4 is predicted.

The Fields

As always, North Cork AC have assembled strong fields in both men & women. In the men's race, lots of names stick out, notably Mick Clohisey (Raheny Shamrock AC), Sean Hehir (Unattached) and Freddy Keron-Sittuk (Raheny Shamrock AC). The unknown is Spaniard Cornelio Velazquez-Castillejo (Training Market). Cork interest will probably focus on Alan O'Brien (Eagle AC ), Michael Morgan (St Finbarrs AC) and John Shine (Leevale AC)

The Women's field is headed by Aoife Cooke, who is mandatorily running as 'Unattached' for September, following her recent transfer from Youghal AC to Eagle AC. She will be chased by several high-calibre athletes, including Angela McCann (Clonmel AC), Una Britton (Kilcoole AC) and Jill Hodgins (Leevale AC). As with the men's field, the women's race also has a Spanish 'wild-card' in Lola Saura Lujan (Amigos de La Piramide)
