A star-studded field has been assembled for the 100m 'A' race, sponsored by Supervalu, at next Wednesday's Cork City Sports. Leading Irish athletes Marcus Lawlor and Leon Reid will be mixing it with Sidney Siame, Mark Boateng (Canada), Masito Lehate (Lesotho). The Man to beat is Ameer Webb, who has a 9.94 sec best, and has run 10.10 already this year and will be aiming to take the honours, while Christopher Belcher, with a 10.12sec 3rd in the US T&F Championships will also be in the mix. Another athlete with a fine showing this season, is Demek Kemp, who has run 10.03 sec.

Altogether, a Mouth-Watering 100m field. We could be in for some fireworks on Wednesday!

Admission

Admission to the 68th Cork City Sports, sponsored by BAM, is €10 to the ground, and €15 to the stand. There is a concession of €5 for students and Senior Citizens, while Under-12s, accompanied by an adult, have free admission

About Us

Cork Athletics County Board is a constituent member of Athletics Ireland. Cork Athletics is the governing body, administering athletics, track and field (T&F), cross-country (XC) and running in county Cork. The Board comprises elected representatives of constituent athletic clubs and running clubs. Cork County Board AAI organises Championship races and competition, including road, track & field (T&F) and Cross-country (XC), at junior, juvenile, senior and masters levels, and selects representation for the county. In addition, training and education is provided for coaches and officials. The Board also regulates the Athletics Ireland race/event permit (licence) process for county Cork.
