Phil Healy Wins Vienna Indoor 400m in 52.31 Sec

Phil Healy, Bandon AC, set the leading World and European times, when winning today's 400m Indoors, in Vienna, Austria

Ireland’s fastest women Phil Healy has got her indoor season off to a great start winning the Vienna International Indoor Meet in 52.31 secs. This is the fastest time so farthis year, in both European and World Indoors. Lissane De Whitte, from The Netherlands, the European Bronze Medalist from Berlin 2018, was second in 52.66 secs.  Great Britain’s Eilidh Doyle was third in 53.08 secs. Eilidh Doyle is also a 2018 Bronze World Indoor Medalist.

Ferrybank AC's Megan Kiely set a massive PB in the same event, finishing in 56.20sec, while Simone Lalor, St Laurence O'Toole ran 52.86 secs

Healy’s main target for the indoor season is the European Indoor Athletics Championhips in Glasgow in the first weekend in March.

About Us

Cork Athletics County Board is a constituent member of Athletics Ireland. Cork Athletics is the governing body, administering athletics, track and field (T&F), cross-country (XC) and running in county Cork. The Board comprises elected representatives of constituent athletic clubs and running clubs. Cork County Board AAI organises Championship races and competition, including road, track & field (T&F) and Cross-country (XC), at junior, juvenile, senior and masters levels, and selects representation for the county. In addition, training and education is provided for coaches and officials. The Board also regulates the Athletics Ireland race/event permit (licence) process for county Cork.
