SPAR Cork Airport Runway Run 5k

 

Approx. 104 stewards are required to steward this event

 

NB: Each club will have a nominal maximum allocation of FOUR (4) stewards. 

Priority will be given to clubs who have assisted in stewarding either/both the Cork City Marathon (on behalf of Cork Athletics) and the Evening Echo Womens Mini-Marathon

 

In general, individual clubs will be assigned specific areas, including parking, Goodie Bag pickup and Route stewarding. Clubs will receive funding based on the number of stewards provided.

This event starts at midnight (12pm) on the night of Friday November 2nd / Saturday November 3rd, however stewards will be required from approx. 8pm (TBC). The duration for which stewards will be required will depend upon the areas assigned.

Due to the funding received by clubs assisting in this event, there is a high demand for stewarding places.

 

Stewards names MUST be with the Airport Authorities *BY* Wednesday October 17th

 

Stewards

Each steward will receive a 'Goody Bag' and a Technical Top. In addition, each club will receive a per-capita fee for each of the stewards provided, consequently clubs providing significant numbers of stewards can benefit significantly, by way of club funding.

The Fitlive Run Series - Cork Airport Runway Run is organised and hosted by Cork Athletics, with the assistance of Cork athletics clubs, on behalf of Athletics Ireland and the Irish Independent.  Cork Athletics receives a fee for organising and hosting the event, and the clubs providing stewards for the event also receive funding. The funds received, both by Cork Athletics and it's member clubs, are ploughed back into athletics in Cork.

Cork Athletics is a not-for-profit voluntary organisation. The Officers, Committee members and others who help to run the business of the Board are all volunteers, who give their time and expertise, free of charge, for the benefit of the athletes and the sport.

Cork Athletics is a designated Sports Body, Registered GS Number 3014 - Cork County Board (Athletics Association of Ireland) - under Section 235 Taxes Consolidation Act, 1997

About Us

Cork Athletics County Board is a constituent member of Athletics Ireland. Cork Athletics is the governing body, administering athletics, track and field (T&F), cross-country (XC) and running in county Cork. The Board comprises elected representatives of constituent athletic clubs and running clubs. Cork County Board AAI organises Championship races and competition, including road, track & field (T&F) and Cross-country (XC), at junior, juvenile, senior and masters levels, and selects representation for the county. In addition, training and education is provided for coaches and officials. The Board also regulates the Athletics Ireland race/event permit (licence) process for county Cork.
