EYOF Qualification Times for Senan O'Reilly and Eleanor Foott

Two extra events were added to tonight's schedule, to facilitate two athletes attempting to achieve EYOF (European Youth Olympic Festival) Qualification Times,and, subject to ratification, and satisfying other criteria, both athletes met the standard

First event of the meet was the Junior Women's 2000m Steeplechase, requested by Bray Runners athlete, Eleanor Foott. Eleanor was joined by Youghal AC's Avril Cashman, who ran, at very short notice, in spite of an important function she was attending tonight, and to which she made a rapid exit from MTU Track. Eleanor ran 7:04.92, with Avril on 7:20.97. The qualification time for the Women's 2000m Steeplechase is 7:22.00

The second EYOF Qualification attempt came later in the evvening, when Senan O'Reilly, St Catherine's AC, running with Tommy Connolly, Leevale AC, in the Junior Men's 400m, with Senan running 50.21 to Tommy's 52.83. Senan's time was also inside the 50.30 Qualification Time

The 2022 European Youth Oympic Festival will be held in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, from 24th to 30th July. The Irish team will be selected from those meeting the Qualification Times and Criteria
