Echo Women's Mini Marathon

This year we are celebrating the 41st Echo Women’s Mini-Marathon. Following the success of the Virtual event over the past twop years, the event will be retained again this year, running in parallel with the 'In Person' event on the Marina, and we are hoping that as many people as possible will take part to help support the many Cork charities who rely on the event’s participants to raise much-needed funds every year.

Cork Athletics is proceeding with plans for a live 'In-Person' event on the Marina, and a decision will be made on this in the next few months, as there are still many 'hurdles' to be overcome due to Covid-19, and much will depend on Government and Sport Ireland advice/regulations

About the Event

The event is 6km and you can complete that however you want either by walking, running or jogging in your back garden!

If the live race cannot go ahead again this year, we encourage you to join us virtually in the spirit of the event on what would have been race day on September 19th, and complete your 6k, (Please  adhere to all Government guidelines regarding public safety and social distancing that are in place at the time that you are doing your 6K).

The results portal will be open from September 15th, so, if you can’t complete your 6K on the nominal date, September 18th, you can also do it anytime between September 15th and September 27th, then upload your results to download your certificate of completion

The Echo Women's Mini Marathon is the biggest event of its kind in Munster. It has grown from its beginnings in 1980, with only 300 participants, to over 10,000 participants in recent years.

Whether you are a seasoned runner, on a fitness mission, or are joining friends to enjoy the walk, the Mini Marathon is suitable for everyone, with women choosing to run, jog or walk depending on their fitness level.

Each year, several hundred thousand euro is raised for local, national and international charities and organisations. Each year, approx. 1 Million euro has been raised for charity by participants, over the last three decades, with the participants themselves deciding which charity they will support.  The Echo Women's Mini Marathon has become a key event on every charity’s fundraising calendar. So, why not come and join us on September 19th, we can promise you a fun day out!
