Juvenile 1 Mile Road Race

In 2017, a 1 Mile race was introduced, for Juveniles aged 11 to 15 years.  Entry is limited to 200 Juveniles.  This event will be chip timed, and will start at 7:15pm, while the main event, the 5k, will start at 8pm


 Medals are for the One-mile race ONLY!

Entry Information

Entry for both 1 Mile and 5k events is entirely online, and will open Online entries open on Friday April 8th

There will be NO entries available on race night


Entry fee is €15 (+ processing fee) for the 5k

Entry fee for the 1 mile Junior race is €8 (+ processing fee), with a medal for all finishers. Places are limited to 100

Free access to Fota Waildlife Park for a small family group is included in for both 5k and 1 Mile entries


NO ENTRIES will be taken on the day - Pre-Entry only

Number Transfer is NOT permitted

1) The presence of quite a bit of tree cover 'fools' Googlemaps into thinking that the tree tops is the road surface
2) The range illustrated below is between about 10 and 50 ft, and all climbs are gentle slopes, except for one short sharp incline

Access to Fota Wildlife Park on Race Night

Race entrants will have free access to Fota Wildlife Park and may bring another adult and two children, into the park with them. Please note however that access will be strictly controlled on the night, and entry to the Park will open from 6:30pm




 

About Us

Cork Athletics County Board is a constituent member of Athletics Ireland. Cork Athletics is the governing body, administering athletics, track and field (T&F), cross-country (XC) and running in county Cork. The Board comprises elected representatives of constituent athletic clubs and running clubs. Cork County Board AAI organises Championship races and competition, including road, track & field (T&F) and Cross-country (XC), at junior, juvenile, senior and masters levels, and selects representation for the county. In addition, training and education is provided for coaches and officials. The Board also regulates the Athletics Ireland race/event permit (licence) process for county Cork.
