Munster Athletics Notice

 

Time: First race at 11.30am

Venue: Conna, Co. Cork

Closing Date: Wednesday 6th November, at midnight

Fees: €2 euro per juvenile (Under-9 to Under-19) & €5 euro for Under-20 & Senior.

Under-19 athletes may also enter the Under-20 competition.

All individual entries, no need for team entries.

1.Juveniles: Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17 & Under-19, as of 31.12.2019

 

2019 Age Categories

1. Age categories calculated from 31 December in the year of competition.

2. No athlete may obtain a birthday in the year of competition and compete in that age.

 

Please note all ages should be read as UNDER the stated age

2.Athletes may move up ONE age group, except for the U/9 age group.

To compete Under-9, the minimum age is EIGHT years (i.e. all athletes must turn 8 years old in 2019, no athlete turning 7 in 2019 may compete)

 

3.Under-20: Must be aged 16 and U/20 years, as of 31.12.2019

 

4.Senior:Must be 18years of age and over as of 31.12.2019

Directions to Venue

Please follow the route outlined below, to avoid delays and confusion. There is a large road race, the Thomas Kent Memorial 10k, taking place in and around Castlelyons village, so restrictions will be in place in the vicinity, from early morning, until early afternoon

From Cork

Exit at Watergrasshill, follow old N8 to exit for Midleton & Conna to the right (before Rathcormac). Then take next left for Conna, on the R628. Follow cross-country signs for course.

From Waterford

Turn right in the middle of Tallow and go to Conna, follow signs to course.

From north of Fermoy

Take Exit 14 and drive into Fermoy.  Turn left onto N72, until Coolagown Cross, MacDonnell Bros, and turn Right, at next T-junction, then turn left for Conna, and follow signs for course.

All major junctions signposted.

Cork Athletics County Board is a constituent member of Athletics Ireland. Cork Athletics is the governing body, administering athletics, track and field (T&F), cross-country (XC) and running in county Cork. The Board comprises elected representatives of constituent athletic clubs and running clubs. Cork County Board AAI organises Championship races and competition, including road, track & field (T&F) and Cross-country (XC), at junior, juvenile, senior and masters levels, and selects representation for the county. In addition, training and education is provided for coaches and officials. The Board also regulates the Athletics Ireland race/event permit (licence) process for county Cork.
