Strength and Conditioning Workshop - Exercise Technique and Application

Leevale High-Performance Centre, Farranlea Rd, Cork, T12 HW88

Saturday, September 28, 2019

1. Athletic Development

2. Fundamental Exercises

3. Practical Demonstrations

This one-day workshop will focus on athletic development, and is aimed at coaches who are planning to introduce a strength and conditioning programme for their clubs and athletes.

The workshop will enable coaches to improve their short & long-term training planning.  Strength and conditioning has become a vital component of an athletes training, to prevent injury and improve physical capacity.

The workshop will allow coaches the opportunity to understand the fundamentals of strength and conditioning in a practical environment, and coaches will be invited to get involved in the exercise demonstrations.

Upon completion of this workshop, coaches will understand the key exercises necessary for athletic development, and be able to implement safe and effective exercise instruction, and apply this in their clubs and training groups.

On completion of this course, coaches will receive an Athletics Ireland Strength and Conditioning manual.

This manual provides a step-by-step exercise guide on what should be included in training, along with adaptations and progressions of each exercise.
