The SPAR Cork Airport Runway 5K returns for 2018 on Friday 2nd November at 23:59! Athletics Ireland, in conjunction with Cork Athletics, and in proud partnership with SPAR Ireland, Cork Airport & Cork's 96FM, bring this unique running experience to Cork.
Cork Airport will close down operations for one evening only, where thousands of participants will take on the 5K runway course at night! This unique 5K run gives runners the opportunity to take on the flat, fast Cork Airport runway at midnight. All participants will receive a T-Shirt, Medal, and Goody-bag as well as plenty of other surprises.
Participants are welcome to run, jog or walk the distance. Everyone needs a goal to run towards - let this be your goal for 2018. Discounted entry is €20 (+ €1.40 Booking Fee) before 14th September!
The SPAR Cork Airport Runway 5K returns for 2018, on the 2nd November at 23:59. Runners will take on the 5K course, on the runway at Cork Airport, on the night of Friday, November 2nd, 2018. Participants are welcome to run, jog or walk the distance.
Niall MacCarthy, Managing Director ay Cork Airport said “We are delighted to host our third runway run this year. It is an extremely popular and truly unique event for people of all ages and fitness levels. This year, we are hoping to see at least 2,500 people take to our runway at 23.59 on Friday 2nd November, to complete the 5k run. The event creates a brilliant atmosphere throughout the airport, and creates a great sense of individual and team spirit amongst participants and our staff on the night."

I am looking forward to taking part along with the thousands of other fun and serious runners who use the event for a personal best or just an enjoyable 5k run.” He added.
