New Course for 2017

The Grange Fermoy AC 4 mile road race on Friday September 1st at 7.30pm has been finalised. It will be on a fast course in Ballyhooly village, just to the west of Fermoy, on the Fermoy - Mallow road.

Grange-Fermoy AC are disappointed that the race could not be held in the town of Fermoy, as originally planned, particularly as the race was to be part of the festival in Fermoy town that weekend. However it was felt that imposed restrictions as to where the club could hold it, and the requirement to run on footpaths, on
many sections of the course, were not in the best interests of participants.

The race will now be an out and back 2 mile section, on a flat course, so it should be pretty quick. The course heads out from the village, past the GAA pitch, and down to the crossroads, where runners will turn, and return on same road.

Race HQ will the Ballyhooly Community Centre where registration will take place and the prize giving and refreshments will be served afterwards.

The course has been Accurately Measured, by Jones Counter, by Darren Flynn, Athletics Ireland National Grade Measurer.
