Starting outside the amusement arcade on the Quay, the course heads south towards the Trident Hotel, turning right, and right again, onto Lower O'Connell St.  The section along Lower O'Connell St and Main St. will be familiar to many, as the finishing section of Belgooly AC's Kinsale 5, held each August Bank Holiday weekend.

The Abbey Well Kinsale

The 1 Mile mark is about half-way up the only hill of note on the course.  Just on the left, after the 1 Mile mark, is a sign for The Abbey Well, a (relatively) hidden antiquity in kinsale.

The 2k mark is in the centre of the mini-roundabout by Kinsale Community School, and the long gradual downslope after the hill will be most welcome.
