Training

Mt. Hillary AC is a group of like minded people from all areas of North West Cork, who enjoy running as part of a group in the surrounding areas of Mt. Hillary.

Mt. Hillary is an area steeped with a long and proud sporting history, dating back to 1886 where the famous Banteer Sports Meeting was hosted. The sports meeting ran up until 1950 and regularly drew thousands of spectators. The Mt. Hillary area can also boast of producing athletes that achieved both Olympic and World championship success. Namely Dr Pat O'Callaghan who won a gold medal at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics for the Hammer Throw and Denis Horgan who won the 1888 World Championship for the 16lb shot put.

Mt. Hillary AC athletes compete at all levels from 5k's to marathons and are looking forward to a bright and prosperous future.  We at Mt Hillary AC are a new club and are always looking to recruit new members of all ages and abilities.

The club trains twice weekly on Tuesday's and Thursday's at 7:30pm where we meet at the Banteer Sportsfield and also on Saturday mornings around 8:45am at the Mt. Hillary main entrance.

If you would like more information about the club or want to join please contact us by sending a message to the official Club's official Facebook page via Facebook Messenger, or simply turn up to training on either the Tuesday or Thursday night.
