Leevale Women Take National Senior Road Relays Title, While St.
Finbarr's Men take Silver in Masters M50
Leevale Take Senior Women Gold

Leevale women's team of sisters Carol and Michelle Finn, and Lizzie Lee
took the title, by a marin of 29 seconds, from Letterkenny AC. A
notable feature was the fact that each of the Leevale girls ran the
fastest of their respective legs; Carol took the first first, one lap,
leg in 5:08, giving a lead of three seconds. Lizzie lee took the
second leg, again running the fastest 2 leg of the day, in 10:35,
extending the overall margin by one second, as Letterkenny's Sinead
peoples fought very hard to close the gap. Michell Finn ran the one lap
anchor leg, in 4:56, the fastest 1 lap time of the day, to bring the
team home in 20:39..
St Finbarr's M50 Team take Silver

St. Finbarr's team of Michael Murphy, Cathal O'Connell and Ken Devine,
took the M50 Silver medals, in a time of 21:07, just 6 seconds behind
hosts Raheny AC's 'A' team. Michael Murphy ran the first leg in
5:15, the third fastest first leg time. Cathal O'Connell ran the
second, two lap, leg in 10:47, the second fastest second leg. However
Raheny's Mick Traynor, running a viciously fast 10:14, did the damage,
giving Raheny a 15 second marging at the changeover. Ken Devine
took the anchor leg, running 5:05, cutting Raheny's lead to just 6
seconds, with an aggregate time of 21:07, to Raheny's 21:01.
