400m Hurdles - Round 1:

Christine McMahon made it through in a difficult heat.  Conditions were very wet. Initially, there was a false start, with Peterson (lane 4) going out. McMahon was running great in lane 5, looking like coming in third, behind one of the favourites, Rzhykova (Lane 6).  However coming into the last hurdle, Rzhykova's leg went and she clattered into the hurdle, splitting it and fell across McMahon's path, causing McMahon to falter and step into Lane 4 momentarily. This left McMahon in second place, with 3 to qualify.  Having faltered in avoiding Rzhykova, McMahon lost momentum and was overtaken, finishing in the third qualifying place.  Time unofficially, was 57.16.

Weather disrupted the afternoon session, resulting in a delay of about a half hour to the resumption.

100m - Semi-Finals

Amy Foster finished in 8th place, in 11.79 secs.

400m Hurdles - Semi-Final 2;

Thomas Barr gave it a gutsy run, but seemed to struggle in the 3rd 100, before giving a great effort to finish in third place in 49.3, with the first two going through automatically.  Going into the third semi-final, Thomas was in the second of the two fastest qualifying positions. Unfortunately, both of teh fastest losers came from the third semi-final.

400m - Semi-Final 1

Richard Morrisey finished in 8th place in 46.64 sec.

400m - Semi-Final 2

Brian Gregan finished in 6th place, in 45.81 secs, a Season's Best, just 0.34 of a second off the final qualifying place

800m - Semi Final 1

Mark English qualified as a fastest loser, in fourth place, in 1:46.23
