Sports Athlete of the Month - July 2015
Sam
Healy, Leevale AC, has been awarded the Cork City Sports Star of the
Month award for July. Sam receives the award for his performance at the
European Junior Athletics Championships, in Eskilstuna, Sweden, last
month.
In his last jump, during the
Long Jump final,
Sam produced a fine 7.44m, finishing in fifth place. During
the Championships, Sam achieved three PBs (Personal Bests).
This is Sam’s fourth Cork City Sports Athlete of the Month Awards,
having received the January 2015 award, also for the Long Jump. His
earlier awards, in September 2012,
and November 2013, were for multi-event achievements.
Only Robert Heffernan, with five, has received more Cork City Sports
awards.
