Fota Island Running Club

At the June meeting of Cork Athletics monthly Board meeting, Fota
Island Running Club was approved as a member club. As
per procedure, the club's membership must be formally ratified at the
next Cork Athletics Annual Convention. The Board and member clubs
present at the meeting were delighted to welcome the new club, who were
represented at the meeting. The affiliation of Fota Island
Running Club brings the total number of clubs currently
affiliated with Cork Athletics, and Athletics Ireland, to forty five
(45), with several more groups currently in discussion with Cork
Athletics.

"Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned athlete, Fota Island Running
Club has a spot for you. The resort hopes to promote running within the
local community as well as showcase its new, impressive running routes.
Affiliated with the Athletics Association of Ireland, the club will
offer hands-on instruction and coaching for the sport including trail
running, with two organised training sessions per week that include
speed training and running conditioning, the club will teach you the
proper techniques to significantly improve both your endurance and
speed.
Running club members will get access to the exclusive running-club
trails open seven days a week, running couldn’t be more fun as you
meander through the lush green forest and along the sparkling
waterfront in gorgeous Cork, the picturesque running trails are sure to
inspire you to embrace your inner athlete!

To join, there is a €60 fee for a 12-month membership, if you are
unsure if the running club is the right thing for you, Fota Island
Resort welcomes you to try one of the scheduled training sessions for
free prior to joining. The scenic and various levels of running routes
are sure to impress runners of every skill level, so why not give it a
go!"
