From Belgooly AC

Grace McKenzie, Belgooly AC, has joined McNeese State University, by invitation, on an athletics scholarship for Multi-Events and High Jump.

Subject to correction, this is the first time an Irish athlete has received a scholarship for Multi-Events.

In joining McNeese, Grace follows in the footsteps of other famous Cork athletes, Fanahan McSweeney and the Foolkes brothers. McNeese competes in Division 1 of the Southland Conference of the NCAA.

Grace has been a member of Belgooly AC since 2007, representing her club at county, Munster and All Ireland championships, both indoors and outdoors. Grace has also represented her school, Scoil Mhuire Croshaven, at Munster, All Ireland and International level, in both multi events and individually in high jump, long jump, shot and hurdles. Grace has also competed with distinction, in the same events, in both the English and Scottish championships.
