A small group of five athletes took part in today's Athletics Ireland National 20k Walk Championships, held at CIT Track, in cool (10 C) but relatively windless conditions.  The Championships had been originally scheduled for earlier this summer but were deferred due to a fixtures clash.  Earlier this month it was decided, at relatively short notice, to hold the event before year end, to ensure continuity of the Championships, which have been held annually since 1970.
