Phil Healy (UCC/Bandon AC) and Michelle Finn (UL/Leevale AC) set IUAA records as Cork women feature strongly at IUAA T&F Championships

Women

Phil Healy set an IUAA record of 23.93 secs, in  the Women's 200m, while Michelle Finn also set an IUAA record of 9:54.89, in the Women's 3,000m Steeplechase.

Phil didn't have things her own way, as sister Joan beat her into second place in the Women's 100m, winning in 11.64 secs, with Phil in 11.66.  Perversely, Phil's semi-final time equalled Joan's winning time.

Other Cork winners were
Andrea Bickerdyke, CIT, winning the 1500m in 04:43.7, in a CIT record. UCC's 4x400m team of Christine Neville, Orna Murray, Louise Shanahan, Niamh Moore, won in 4:02.90, and Laura McSweeney, UCC, winning the Shot Put in 12.10, West Muskerry AC sisters Grainne and Megan Moynihan, competing for DCU, respectively won the 400m, and Hammer, in 56.61 secs and 48.99m

Men

While there were several Cork successes in the Men's events, there were only two Gold medalists: Blarney-Inniscarra AC's Brandon Arrey led DCU to the 4x400m Title in 3:22.80. David Cussen, UCC/Old Abbey AC, won the High Jump title on countback, with a jump of 2.00m, setting a UCC record.
