Cork Registration figures stand at a record 3,928 an increase of  15.02% on the 3,415 figure of February 4th. The figure at the end of January 2015 was 2,410

2016 Athletics Ireland Registrations are now Due

Clubs are reminded that 2016 registrations should be completed as soon as possible. There was a "grace period" of a few weeks, to allow sufficient time for re-registrations, whereby insurance cover continueed, pending registration.  This "grace period" did NOT extend beyond January 31st and did NOT include competition.

Therefore any athlete that remains unregistered at this point in time is NOT covered by Athletics Irelands insurance, for ANY purpose, training or competition. 
Clubs are urged to register their athletes without further delay. Of the 46 clubs registered last year, five have yet to register any athlete and one has not registered the minimum number of ten athletes.

NB: The "grace period" covers official club, county, provincial and national training sessions.  It does NOT cover competition. All athletes competing in Championship or representative events MUST be registered.  Club Registrars are reminded that there is a new Registration System in operation.
